The Chicago Bulls have finalized their roster for the 2026-27 NBA season opener, waiving four players on Exhibit 10 contracts. The team announced the release of center Orlando Robinson, forward Jalen Bridges, guard Brandon Boston Jr., and guard Drew Peterson on Saturday. This brings the active roster to 14 players, one spot below the league maximum, following a 133-116 preseason victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 16.

All four waived players were on non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deals, allowing them to participate in training camp and preseason games. Orlando Robinson, 26, showed flashes of potential frontcourt depth. He scored nine points on perfect 3-of-3 shooting with two blocks in the final preseason game against Minnesota. Jalen Bridges, 25, appeared in four games and hit three three-pointers.

Brandon Boston Jr., 24, saw limited action, making his only shot against the Phoenix Suns. Drew Peterson, 26, was perhaps the most productive of the group in his preseason minutes. The former USC guard scored 16 total points, shooting 4-of-6 from three-point range and adding five assists and four steals across five outings.

With these cuts, the Bulls' 15-man roster is nearly set. They now have six guards, six forwards, and two true centers in Nic Claxton and Zach Collins. Their three two-way contract slots are also filled by Jordan Hawkins, Jaylin Sellers, and Tobe Awaka. The decision indicates the Bulls' front office is comfortable with its current big-man depth despite injuries, opting not to convert Robinson's tryout into a standard deal.

These players are now free agents, but they could re-join the organization with the Windy City Bulls, Chicago's G League affiliate. G League rosters must be finalized by November 5. The Bulls' preseason performance, which included a 125-104 win over Milwaukee on October 14, gave the coaching staff ample film to evaluate end-of-roster talent.

The focus now shifts entirely to the regular season. Chicago opens its campaign on the road against the Toronto Raptors this Wednesday, October 21. The team concluded its preseason schedule with a 3-2 record, with notable wins over the Suns, Bucks, and Timberwolves.

Head coach Billy Donovan will use the final days of preparation to solidify rotations. The roster construction suggests a blend of veteran presence and young talent, with players like Josh Giddey, Buddy Hield, and Norman Powell expected to lead the backcourt. The Bulls have one open standard roster spot, giving them flexibility for potential future additions.
